The workshop
Before the road,
there is the workshop.
Engine
Engines are built on a stand by one fitter, start to finish, then run in on the dyno before they meet a frame.
Frame
Tubes are cut, mitred and brazed on a steel jig that has been in the workshop longer than most of the staff.
Paint
Four coats in the booth, flatted by hand between each. The pinstripe goes on last, freehand.
Leather
Saddles and pannier panels are cut from whole hides and stitched at the bench by the window.
Assembly
Engine, frame, wheels and wiring meet on the lift. One machine at a time, never a line.
Inspection
A last look under the lamp, a short ride round the block, and a signature on the build sheet.

Colour that
ages well.
Oxford Green
Deep as a hedgerow after rain. Goes almost black in shade, green again in the sun.

A machine
worth keeping.
